CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team suffered a 4-1 defeat to Southern Athletic Association foe Berry College at Warrior Field Friday night.

The visiting Vikings (6-4-1, 2-0) outshot the Warriors (4-6-2, 0-2) 22-10 and 12-3 on goal.

Berry's Kyle Fitting opened the scoring in the 14th minute on a header off a Josh Fancher corner. In the 54th minute, Celb Lucas made the game 2-0 on an Evan Echols pass.

Hendrix cut the defecit to 2-1 in the 56th minute when sophomore midfielder Jacob Pierce headed in sophomore Will Dunaway's corner kick. The goal was the team-leading seventh of the year for Pierce.

Fitting added another goal in the 79th minute and Josh Hughes found the net in the 88th.

Sophomore keeper Marco Luna had eight saves for Hendrix, while Logan Hill recorded two for Berry.

The Warriors will take on Oglethorpe University on Sunday in another SAA tilt.
