CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's soccer team lost to Berry College 4-2 in Southern Athletic Association action at Warrior Field on Friday night.
The visiting Vikings (8-3, 1-1) outshot the Warriors (5-4-2, 0-1-1) 25-4 and 10-3 on goal.
Maggie Midkiff opened the scoring for Berry in the 10th minute on a pass from Sara Dillon. Sophomore forward
Samantha Lallas tied the game on a penalty kick, her second in two games, less than a minute later. Haley Hendrickson assisted Molly Johnson to put the Vikings up in 34th minute and take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Midkiff scored again the 61st minute and Kristina Meyer headed one in off a Johnson corner kick to give Berry a 4-1 lead. Lallas scored her fifth goal in the last four games with assists from freshmen
Janie Stultz and
Natalie Mulkey in the 71st minute.
Lallas took all three shots on goal for Hendrix and sophomore forward Syndey King had one shot.
Sophomore keeper
Rachel Zweig recorded five saves in 65 minutes in front of the net and freshman Michael Seltzer had one for the Warriors. Melissa Sanchez stopped one for Berry.
Hendrix will host another SAA contest on Sunday against Oglethorpe University at noon.
