CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix College senior center
Jamie Tate surpassed the 1,000 rebound mark for her career as the Warriors defeated Rust College 61-50 at Grove Gymnasium on Monday night.
Tate, from Nashville, Tenn., grabbed 11 in the game, giving her 1,008 in her tenure. She is one of just three active players in NCAA Division III to pass the milestone - along with Ashley Roser of Wells and Jamecia Forsythe of John Jay. Tate surpassed the old Hendrix record of 753 held by Christina Byler in January of 2013.
In the game, the Lady Bearcats (2-5) had a 28-27 lead with 1:55 left in the first half, before the Warriors (3-5) ended the period on a 6-0 run to take a 33-28 advantage into the break. Hendrix opened the second half with a 9-2 run to take control of the game. The Orange & Black would go up by as many as 18 late in the second half.
Hendrix shot 38 percent (21-of-55) from the field, 4-of-17 from outside and 15-of-22 at the free throw line. Rust shot 31.5 percent (17-of-54) overall, 3-of-12 from three-point range and 13-of-24 at the stripe. The Warriors held a 49-31 rebounding edge.

Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler paced Hendrix with 15 points and three assists. Freshman guard
Peyton Hurst scored a season-best 13 points and grabbed five rebounds. Freshman guard
Taylor Neal had 12 points, five boards and three steals. Tate finished with four points and two blocks to go with her 11 rebounds. Freshman forward
Anna King came off the bench to scored six points and grab 10 boards.
Kala Williams led Rust with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Brown had 12 points, three blocks and two steals.
Hendrix will be off until Dec. 19 when they face Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
