CONWAY, Ark. – The Hendrix College women's basketball picked up their second consecutive win by defeating Berry College 68-66 in Southern Athletic Association action at Grove Gymnasium Sunday. The win puts the Warriors (3-20, 3-9) in a tie for sixth place with Oglethorpe, who Hendrix beat on Friday, in the league standings with two regular season contests left to play.
Hendrix led the Vikings (10-12, 5-7) most of the first half and took a 31-28 lead into halftime. Berry fought back and gained a 55-46 advantage with 7:37 left in the frame. Hendrix rallied with a 19-9 run, taking a 65-64 lead with 1:04 left to play. Junior center

Freshman guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler made a pair of free throws with 26 second left to put Hendrix up by three. The Warrior defense held Berry from scoring on the perimeter, and limited them to a Megan Walks layup with just under three seconds left. Forced to foul, Tate made a final free throw with 1.5 seconds left to seal the win.
For the game, Hendrix shot 36 percent (25-of-69) overall, 5-of-19 from three-point range and 13-of-19 at the charity stripe. Berry shot 37 percent (25-of-68), 2-of-16 from outside and 14-of-18 at the line. The Warriors held a 48-43 rebound advantage.
Kriesel-Bigler led the Warriors with 19 points and five assists. Tate scored 18 points and pulled down a season-best 19 rebounds. Junior forward

Estrella Flores came off the bench to score 10 points grab six boards.
Chanlir Segarra led the Vikings with 18 points and five assists. Tara Mullinax had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Megan Walsh recorded 15 points and grabbed 12 boards.
Hendrix will return to action on Friday night when they host SAA-rival Centre College.
