NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse lost a 10-9 nailbiter in the final seconds to Piedmont College on Sunday afternoon. Tied 9-9, Taylor Carter of the (Lions) scored with 15 seconds left on a pass from Holin Axley. After the ensuing faceoff, Warrior (0-3) junior midfielder

The Lions put up two more goals before Millstone scored three and Baier added another to tie the game at 5-5 at the half.
The Warriors went up on a Rogers goal, assisted by Baier, but Piedmont answered with scores from Axley and Gants to regain a 7-6 lead. Baier scored his third goal of contest on a pass from freshman
Travis Rabun late in the third quarter to tie it up again.
Millstone opened the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal, giving Hendrix an 8-7 lead. Carter tied it up at the 11:25 mark, but Warrior freshman
Taylor Preisler scored almost two minutes later giving the Warriors a 9-8 lead. Gantz tied the game again on a Carter assist late in the quarter. Carter followed with the game-winner in the final minute of the game.
For the game, Hendrix outshot Piedmont 45-35 with a 29-27 advantage in shots on goal. The Warriors dominated faceoffs, winning 14-of-21 and they held a 39-35 edge in ground balls.
Millstone led the Warriors with four goals and took a school record 20 shots, 15 of which were on goal. The St. Louis, Mo. native won 14 faceoffs and picked up seven ground balls. Baier recorded three goals and an assist and Rogers had a goal and an assist for two points. Rabun assisted two goals. Senior

Carter paced the Lions with three goals and one assist and Gantz had two goals. Belle Isle, Axley and Chase Woods had a goal an assist each and Nick Leaf had a goal and two assists. Morley recorded 20 saves and nine ground balls.
Hendrix will be back in action on Saturday morning against Centenary College in Shreveport, La.
