JACKSON, Miss. - The Hendrix College baseball lost the second game of a three-game series to Millsaps College 13-1 in seven innings at Twenty Field on Saturday. The host Majors (9-3, 2-0) outhit the Warriors (5-10, 1-4) 15-5.
Millsaps took control of the game in the first, scoring eight runs on five hits and three walks, including a three-run homer by right fielder William Chenoweth. The Majors scored three more in the second and and two in the third to go up 13-0. Hendrix picked up their only run in the seventh when sophomore pinch hitter John Ponds led off with a base hit and moved to third after walks issued to sophomore

Matt Simmons grounded into a double play, allowing Pounds to score.

Thomas Weber had two hits for the Warriors. Sophomore catcher
Seth Mobley recorded a double. Major first baseman Andrew Rafferty had three hits, two runs and three RBI.
Hendrix used four pitchers, allowing 15 hits and five walks. Senior
Ted Smoyer (1-1) was tagged with the loss as he lasted just one-third of an inning before giving up seven runs. Keith Shumaker (1-0) struck out one and gave up four hits in six scoreless innings for Millsaps.
The Warriors and Majors will play the final game of the series on Sunday at noon.
