Tyler Keever pitch five innings of scoreless, gutsy relief and junior center fielder
Collin Radack hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 13th as the Hendrix College baseball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Platteville 9-8 at Warrior Field on Thursday night. In their longest game by innings in school history, the Warriors (12-15) were outhit by the Pioneers (5-9) 18-13, but Hendrix recorded four extra base hits, three of which by Radack, compared to just one for UWP.
The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when left fielder Ryan Lehmann singled with two outs and scored on a base hit from designated hitter Topher Scheeler. The Warriors took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the frame when sophomore first baseman
Ryan Ritz reached on error, was bunted over by freshman second baseman
Charlie St. Clair and scored on a triple from Radack, who extended his hitting streak to 26 games, the longest active streak in the nation. Sophomore right fielder
Matt Simmons knocked in Radack with a sacrifice fly.
UWP tied the game at 2-2 in the third on a RBI single by Scheeler, but Hendrix added two in the bottom of the third when St. Clair drew a walk with two outs and scored on a Radack double. Simmons followed with a base hit to left center, scoring Radack. Ritz doubled in sophomore catcher

The Warriors went up 8-2 in the sixth when sophomore third baseman
Brady Newville led off with a base hit and later scored on a sac fly by Ritz. Sophomore shortstop Brandy Smith also singled and eventually scored on a passed ball.
The Pioneers tied the game at 8-8 with a six-run seventh inning on four hits and three walks. Scheeler had the big hit of the inning, with a two-run hit.
Hendrix had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the 11th when UWP third baseman George Jester III caught a line drive off the bat of Newville and doubled up St. Clair at third base.
With two outs and Pioneer center fielder Ryan Duva on second, Jester hit a single to left field, but a charging Crenshaw threw out Duva, the potential go-ahead run, after a swiping tag by freshman catcher

Ritz led the bottom of the 13th off with a bunt single and St. Clair walked to put two runners on with no outs. Radack ended the game with a double to left field, allowing Ritz to score the winning run.
Radack went 4-for-6 with eight total bases, three RBI and two runs scored. Ritz had two hits, including a double, two runs scored and three RBI. Simmons also had two hits and drove in three runs. Ritz set two school records with 17 chances and 17 putouts and freshman shortstop
Brandon Smith tied the program record with nine assists.
First baseman Zach Demmon went 6-for-6 for the Pioneers. Scheeler was 4-for-7 with four RBI.
Keever, a left-hander, allowed six hits and four walks to go with three strikeouts, but did not allow a run over five innings to pick up his first win of the year. Freshman starter
Kyle Teachout went five innings, giving up eight hits and two runs. Pioneer reliever Tyler Nelson (1-1) took the loss, going 2.1 innings and giving up three hits, one run, three walks and striking out one. Starter Adam Theis allowed 10 hits, five earned runs and two walks in seven innings.
Hendrix will return to action on Friday with a Southern Athletic Association double-header against Sewanee at home at 3 p.m.
