CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's soccer team lost to NCAA Division II foe Harding University 2-1 in double overtime at Warrior Field on Tuesday night.
The game was scoreless until the 71st minute when Jenna Taylor of the Lady Bisons (1-4) scored. The Warriors (4-3-1) tied the game about 11 minutes later when sophomore midfielder
Samantha Lallas dribbled past several defenders and beat the keeper to the right side.
Harding won the game just 1:39 into the second overtime on a Sierra Hollingsworth score with assists from McKenna Smith and Melita Sutherland.
For the game, HU outshot Hendrix 22-12, but just 9-5 in on goal chances. Both teams had seven corner kick opportunities.
Lallas took three shots on goal for Hendrix and freshmen
Vanessa Franco and
Sydney Meyer each had one.
Sophomore keeper
Rachel Zweig recorded seven saves for the Warriors. Kaitlyn Miller had four for the Lady Bisons.
Hendrix will go on the road on Saturday for a game at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
