CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team opened the 2013-14 season with a 9-0 loss to the University of the Ozarks on Tuesday.
Junior
Robert Sheets had the closest match of the day, falling to Todd Turner 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (14-12) in a tiebreaker first singles matchup. At the third singles spot, Freshman
Ian McVinney was defeated by Corey Dillard 6-0, 7-6.
Sheets and McVinney lost to Turner and Bishop Bass 8-3 in number one doubles. Junior tandem of
Bob Berardi and
Nick Berardi also lost 8-3 to Dillard and Greg Knaggs in the second flight.
The Warriors will compete in the ITA Southwest Regional in San Antonio, Texas beginning on Friday.
