SHERMAN, Texas - The Hendrix College women's soccer team posted their first shutout of the season, topping Austin College 3-0 at North Field on Friday evening. With the win, the Warriors move to 2-2 on the season, while the Kangaroos fall to 1-2.
Sophomore forward
Hannah Sigda netted two goals and an assist to lead the Hendrix offense. The Albuquerque, N.M. native put the Warriors on the board in the 12th minute on an unassisted goal. In the 23rd minute, freshman midfielder
Vanessa Franco assisted Sigda's score to go up 2-0. Two minutes into the second period, sophomore
Sydney King scored with an assist from Sigda.

Rachel Zweig came up with five saves, including a big one late in the first half, in 72 minutes of work. Freshman
Michaela Seltzer had a save in the final 18 minutes to combine for the shutout.
Austin outshot Hendrix 11-7 overall, but both teams recorded six shots on goal.
The Warriors will try for their second consecutive win on Saturday night when they face LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas at 7 p.m.
