BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost a Southern Athletic Association road game to Birmingham-Southern College at Bill Battle Coliseum on Friday night.
The visiting Warriors (7-9, 1-4) had their worst shooting night of the season, making just 23 percent (17-of-74) of their shots. Hendrix also struggled from outside, going 4-of-20, and were just 5-for-5 at the free throw line. The Panthers (7-9, 3-2) shot 32.7 percent (18-of-55) from the field, were 2-of-11 from three-point range and 17-of-23 at the line. The Warriors held a 51-47 rebounding edge.
BSC led 28-20 at halftime and expanded the margin to 17 early in the second half. Hendrix chipped away to get as close to 44-37 with 6:36 to play, but BSC scored the next five points to push the lead back to 12 points and control the rest of the way.

Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler scored 13 points and 5-of-20 shooting to lead the Warriors in scoring. Sophomore forward
Katy Gallien had season-bests with nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Freshman forward
Anna King came off the bench to score eight points and pull down nine boards. Senior center
Jamie Tate scored four points and grabbed 13 rebounds, her ninth consecutive game with double-digit boards.
Ashley Curry led the Panthers with 16 points and Elizabeth Bromirski had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jane Roamano added nine points and five rebounds off the bench.
Hendrix will take on Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. for another league showdown on Sunday.
