Hendrix Downs Millsaps 71-60

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team defeated Millsaps College 71-60 in Southern Athletic Association action at Grove Gymnasium on Sunday.

The win was the second of the year for the Warriors (10-11, 4-6) over the Majors (5-14, 2-8).

Hendrix led most of the game, including a 30-20 advantage at halftime. The Orange & Black would build their lead up to as many as 20 in the second half.

For the game, the Warriors shot 42.3 percent (22-of-52) overall, 2-of-12 from three-point territory and 25-of-37 at the free throw line. The Majors shot 32.8 percent (21-of-64) from the field, 3-of-17 from outside and 15-of-25 at the stripe. Hendrix held a big 49-35 advantage on the boards.

For the second consecutive game, the Warriors' inside tandem of Colton Primm and Luke Vance came up big. After coming for 38 points and 14 rebounds in Friday's win over Birmingham-Southern, Primm, a senior, had 21 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, while Vance came up with 16 points and seven boards. Sophomore guard Hank Aldous came off the bench to net 12 points and sophomore guard Jordan Barrett recorded nine points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Freshman point guard Gabe Gumm dished out eight assists.

Marc Robertson led Millsaps with 15 points and Murray Kastner added 13. Dustin Aubert had 10 points and three steals. Mac McElveen had eight points and seven rebounds and Ryan Berger pulled down eight boards.

Hendrix, who played their last home game of the year on Sunday, will play at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta on Friday.
