CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team broke the program record for most wins in the season with a 13-7 Southern Athletic Association win over Millsaps College at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Under fourth-year head coach
Curt Foxx, the Warriors improve to 6-4 (2-0 SAA), topping the old mark of five victories set each of the last season.
The Orange & Black outshot the Majors (4-7, 0-2) 35-24 overall and 21-13 on goal. Hendrix also had a 35-17 advantage in ground balls and won 18 of the 24 faceoffs.
The teams were back and forth through the first two quarters and were knotted at 5-5 at halftime. Millsaps scored the first goal of the third quarter to take a 6-5 lead, but Hendrix answered with seven unanswered goals for a 12-6 lead early in the fourth. Both teams added another goal in the final minutes.
Freshman attacker
Carson Boone led the Warriors with three goals and one assist and senior midfielder
Cameron Millstone also recorded a hat trick.
Cody Eckes and
Travis Rabun each had a goal and an assist and freshman
TK Shaffer scored twice.

Alex Heather and
Alex Ortenstone each found the back of the cage as well. Freshman midfielder
Jason Blatt recorded 14 ground balls and won 18 faceoffs, the third most in school history. Sophomore defenseman
Dan D'Ostuni caused two turnovers. Freshman
Christian Wheeler stopped six shots in goal.
Jack Houtz led the Majors with three goals and four ground balls and Ryan Mckay had a goal and three assists. Scott Tafoya caused two turnovers. Keeper Chris Hood had eight saves.
Hendrix will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Elmhurst.
