CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team suffered their first defeat in Southern Athletic Association competition with a 16-7 loss to Berry College at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the Warriors fall to 7-6 overall and 3-1, while the Vikings improve to 8-2 and 3-1.
Berry outshot Hendrix 40-32 and 32-18 on goal. The Orange & Black won 19-of-26 faceoffs and had a 39-31 ground ball advantage, however the Vikings won the turnover battle (9-24) and were 21-of-23 on clears, while the Warriors went 11-of-19.

Patrick Munn and
Carson Boone gave Hendrix a 2-0 lead just 3:28 into the game. Berry ended the first quarter with four straight goals to lead 4-2.
Jason Blatt, Boone and
Cody Eckes opened the second quarter with three goals, giving the Warriors a 5-4 lead with 9:32 left in the half. Berry scored five more before the break to take a 9-5 lead at halftime.

Alex Ortenstone scored for Hendrix to make the game 11-7 with 8:35 left in the third. The Vikings added three more to end the frame, then put up two more in the fourth for the final 16-7 tally.

Cameron Millstone had two assists. Borrello had a goal and an assist and freshman attacker
TK Shaffer added an assist as well. Blatt won all 19 faceoffs for the Warriors, tied for second most in school history, to go with 11 ground balls. Sophomore defenseman

Christian Wheeler recorded season-highs with 16 goals and eight ground balls.
Cory Hall led the Vikings with four goals and two assists and Christian Akers had three goals and two helper. Miller Hollstein scored one and assisted three more. Tommy Edgeworth led B with five ground balls and Patrick Towner caused four turnovers. Jordan Boreman had four saves in 48 minutes and Nick Voso had seven in the final 12 minutes.
Hendrix will be off until Saturday when they host Birmingham-Southern College in the final home game of the season.
