Oglethorpe Tops Hendrix

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team lost their regular season finale 8-1 to Oglethorpe University in Southern Athletic Association play on Sunday.

The Warriors end the regular season 1-12 overall and 0-7 in the SAA, while the Stormy Petrels, the 11th-ranked team inthe Atlantic South, improve to 12-8 and 5-1.

Freshman Karthik Garimella picked up Hendrix' only point with 7-5, 7-5 win over Craig Borne at number four singles. Junior Robert Sheets lost to C.J. Antonio, #24 in the region, 6-3, 6-2 in number one. Freshman Ian McVinney lost to Kirk Zhao 6-0, 6-4 in the third flight.

In number one doubles, #15 Antonio and Nick Roby topped Sheets and Berardi 8-3.

Hendrix will be off until the SAA Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tenn. beginning Apr. 25.
