CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball lost 6-5 to cross-town foe Central Baptist College at Warrior Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mustangs (29-14) scored two in the top of the first when shortstop Josh Buczek led off with a base hit and moved to third on a single by center fielder Ryan Johnson. Left fielder Brady Brashier followed with a walk to load the bases with no outs. After a pop up and a strikeout by Warrior (20-15) freshman starter
Billy Lovvorn, Buczek scored on a wild pitch. Second baseman Brandon Papera drove in Johnson with a single to the right side.
Hendrix tied it up with two outs in the fifth when senior second baseman
Jacob Perschke was hit by a pitch and scored on a double from freshman left fielder
Wyatt Hogan. Junior shortstop
Ryan Ritz singled to the left fielder Brashier who bobbled it, allowing Hogan to cross the plate for the tying run.
CBC catcher Cody Rhoades hit a two-run double in the top of the sixth to regain a 4-2 lead. Two hits and two errors led to two more runs in the top of the seventh.
Senior first baseman
Thomas Weber led the bottom of the eighth off with a double and scored on a
Brady Newville single to make the game 6-3. With one out in the ninth, Radack was hit by a pitch and was knocked with a double from Perschke. Hogan lined out to first for the second out then Ritz singled in Perschke down the right field line to cut the deficit to one run. Mustang reliever Ezra Wiley induced Weber to fly out to center to end the game.

Spencer Summers each recorded doubles. Brashier and right fielder Myles Hiebert each had a single and a double.
CBC reliever Gunner Allen (3-1) earned the win, throwing 5.1 innings and giving up seven hits, three earned runs with a walk and a strikeout. Wiley allowed two hits and a run, but got the final two outs for his fourth save of the year. Lovvorn gave up seven hits, two runs, a walk and struck out two in five innings. Freshman left-hander

Hendrix will play their last Southern Athletic Association series of the season at Sewanee beginning Friday.
