CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College softball team ended the regular season with a pair of losses to Rhodes College at Warrior Field on Saturday afternoon. The visiting Lynx (26-12, 11-9) took game one of the Southern Athletic Association series 5-1, then defeated the Warriors (15-20, 8-13) 10-4 in nine innings.
Hendrix will be the fifth seed at the SAA Tournament in Conway and will take on #4 Rhodes at 10 a.m. on Friday.
After Saturday's games, the Warriors honored their five seniors -
Cara Brazeal,
DJ Sandidge,
Tiffany Hubbard,
Taylor Adams and
Catelyn Gibbs.
In the first game, the Lynx scored two in the fourth and one in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead. The Warriors picked up a run in the bottom of the sixth when Gibbs led off with a single, moved to second on a walk issued to junior shortstop
Michaela Larabee and scored on a ground ball and an error.
Rhodes tacked on two more runs in the seventh.

Kayla Patton picking up the other two hits. Third baseman Christine Hume went 3-for-4 with a RBI for Lynx and Jessica Brown drove in two with a double. FIrst baseman Rachel Pewitt had a pair of doubles.
Forrest Skelton (19-6) picked up the win, allowing one hit, four walks and three strikeouts in five scoreless innings. Emily Cerrito earned her first save of the year, allowing two hits, a run and a walk in two innings. Patton (9-12) gave up 11 hits, four earned runs, a walk and fanned three in the loss.
In game two, Rhodes scored twice on four hits and an error in the top of the second. Fires doubled and scored on a Hubbard base hit in the bottom of the second to make the game 2-1. The Lynx went up 4-1 with two more runs in the third.
Hendrix tied it up in the fifth. Freshman first baseman
Sydney Ozersky led off by reaching on an error and Hubbard drew a walk. Sandidge followed with a double to right center, plating Ozersky and Hubbard. Sandidge moved to third on a ground ball by Brazeal, then scored on a Gibbs base hit to center field, tying the game.
The game remained tied until the top of the ninth when Rhodes scored six runs on six hits and an error.
Six different players had a hit each for the Warriors. Catcher Courtney Williams went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored and a RBI. Shortstop Erin Parker had three hits and Danielle Smith drove in two runs with two hits.
Chloe Hundman (5-5) allowed six hits, three earned runs, three walks and had strikeouts over nine innings to get the win. Sophomore
Ariel McDonald (2-2) went 8.1 innings, giving up 16 hits, eight runs, two walks and three strikeouts.
