MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team ended their season with a pair of losses at the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Warriors (1-14) lost to Sewanee - The University of the South (12-6) 9-0 in the opening round on Friday, then fell to Millsaps (5-10) 8-1 on Saturday.
Junior tandem
Robert Sheets and Bob Berardio lost to Sewanee's, the 10th-ranked team in the region, Eric Roddy and Alex Cooper 8-3 in number one doubles. Freshman
Zach Villemez lost to Sean Laughlin 6-1, 6-2 in number five singles.
Against the Majors, freshman
Karthik Garimella defeated Miodrag Pjevac 6-7 (4-10), 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) in number four singles, earning All-Tournament Team honors. Freshman
Ilya Pound fell to Thomas Mills 6-4, 6-2 in fifth singles.
In doubles, Sheets and Berardi lost 8-5 to Charles Reese and Emerson Brundick.
