Box Score Box ScoreCONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's soccer team lost 4-0 to the University of Texas at Tyler at Warrior Field on Saturday morning in the 2014 season opener. The teams played 40 minutes of scoreless soccer on Friday night, but had to restart the game in the morning due to weather delays.
The visiting Patriots (1-0) outshot the Warriors (0-1) 24-9 overall and 13-3 on goal. Kayla Akin scored in the 19th minute on a pass from Nikki Gordon to give UTT the 1-0 lead. They went up 2-0 in the 24th minute when Morgan Monzingo scored with an assist from Brittany Matthews. Chestley Strother took the opening kickoff of the second half down the field and scored just 13 seconds into the period to go up 3-0. Taylor Hernandez added a final Patriot goal, assisted by Shelby Valdepena, in the 82nd minute.

Kelly Cunningham each had a shot on goal for Hendrix. Freshman
Jordan Rausch came up with nine saves in goal in her Warrior debut. Patriot keeper Paige Harris had three saves.
Hendrix will host the University of the Ozarks on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
