Box Score CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team lost to #13 Emory University 3-0 in the final game of the Warrior Classic on Saturday.
The visiting Eagles (6-0-1) opened the scoring with a Carl Credle header off a Connor Curtin free kick in the 41st minute. Scott Haley blasted a free kick from 25 yards out in the 43rd minute to go up 2-0. Sebastian Hardington assisted a Jason McCartney goal in the 72nd minute for the final score of the game.
The Warriors (2-4-1) had chances, taking 11 shots, but only manged three on goal. Emory shot 29 times, 14 of which were on goal.
Sophomores
Ryan Stanowski,
Spencer Taylor and
Ryan Mason each had a shot on goal for Hendrix.
Freshman keeper
Nathan Myers, who made the all-tournament team, stopped eight shots in 76 minutes. Senior
Eric Bracy had two saves and junior defender
Jacob Pierce made a team save for the Warriors.
Alexander Herbets recorded three saves for the Eagles.
Along with Myers, sophomore forward
Wessel Westerhof and junior defender
Levi Jabben were named to the Warrior Classic All-Tournament Team.
Hendrix will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the University of the Ozarks at 7 p.m.
