Box Score SHREVEPORT, La. - The Hendrix College women's soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime to Centenary College on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors forced overtime with a late goal, but a penalty kick in the 94th minute proved to be the game-winner for the Ladies.
Jordan Rausch took the loss in net for the Warriors, but made two saves on the day. Lauren Cullen and Erica Coker split time for the Ladies and combined for five saves.
In the first half, Hendrix outshot Centenary 4-2 but it was the home team that found the net first. In the 41st minute, Madison Alexander beat Rausch to put the Ladies ahead 1-0 going into the half.
In the second frame, the Warriors pressured the Centenary defense but didn't get a breakthrough until the 84th minute.
Vanessa Franco netted her first goal of the season off of a Hendrix set piece to draw the game back to even. With the game tied 1-1, the Warriors and Ladies were forced into an overtime period.

Samantha Lallas nearly had a chance to finish the game with a score for the Warriors, but the Hendrix top scorer sent her attempt just high. In the 94th minute, Hendrix was whistled for a foul in the box and Centenary was awarded a penalty kick. Hannah Jo Wright stepped up for the ladies and buried the 12-yard shot to give the home team a 2-1 overtime victory.Â
The loss brings an abrupt end to the Warriors' four-game winning streak, moving the team to 4-2 on the season. Hendrix will return to action on Tuesday, September 16 when the team travels to Searcy, Ark. to take on Harding.
