CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 defeat to in-state rival University of the Ozarks on Saturday night.
It was the second loss of the year for the Warriors (2-3) to the Eagles.
Hendrix nearly pulled off a win in number two doubles where sophomore
Ian McVinney and freshman
Kiran Chakka lost to Greg Knaggs and Jacob Organ 9-8. Sophomore
Karthik Garimella and freshman
Kristian Lenser lost 8-6 to Corey Dillard and Tevor Scott at the third spot.
Garimella picked up the Warriors' only point, defeating Knaggs 6-4, 6-2 in number three singles. Senior
Bob Berardi fell to Scott in a tiebreaker 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5) in the fourth flight. Chakka lost to Dillard 6-4, 6-2 at number five singles.
Hendrix will have a three week break, resuming play against Westminster College (Mo.) at home on Mar. 7. Ozarks (Ark.) 8, Hendrix 1
