SHERMAN, Texas - The Hendrix College men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 road victory over Austin College on Sunday. With the win, the Warriors improve to 4-3 overall and the 'Roos fall to 0-4.
Hendrix swept through doubles with seniors
Robert Sheets and
Bob Berardi topping Cedric Ambulo and Adam Dokos 8-5 in the top spot. Sophomore
Ian McVinney and freshman
Kiran Chakka won over Preston Glasscock and Jeff Kubena 8-3 in the second spot 8-3 and sophomore
Karthik Garimella and
Kristian Lenser downed Jacob Morgan and Erik Meendsen 8-6 in the third position.
The Orange & Black also picked up wins in the top three singles flights. Sheets defeated Ambulo 6-1, 6-4 in the first spot and McVinney defeated Dokos 6-2, 6-2 in number two singles. Garimella had a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win over Meendsen in the third flight.
The Warriors are off until Mar. 28 when they open Southern Athletic Association play at Sewanee - The University of the South.
