CONWAY, Ark. - For the second time this season, the Hendrix College men's tennis team defeated the University of the Ozarks with an 8-1 victory Saturday.
The Warriors (4-2) took two doubles pairings to start the match. Junior
Ian McVinney and sophomore
Kiran Chakka topped Alix Tiegs and Paul Jarvis 8-2 at the second spot. Sophomore
Daniel Habenicht and freshman
Luke Lefler had an 8-2 win over Aaron England and Travis Leach in the third flight.
Hendrix took all six singles match-ups from the Eagles (1-5). McVinney defeated Dillon Murray 6-3, 6-2 at number one and junior
Karthik Garimella topped Jacob Organ 6-2, 6-0 at number two.
Sophomore
Kristian Lenser had a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Alix Tiegs and Chakka defeated Jarvis 6-1, 6-3 in the third and fourth spots, respectively. Lefler had a sweep over Aaron England 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth flight.
Freshman
Daniel Sweeney won his debut in a tiebreaker 3-6, 6-2, 10-2 against Leach in the sixth spot.
Hendrix will open Southern Athletic Association play against Rhodes College at home next Saturday.
