CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Texas Lutheran University at home Wednesday evening.
The visiting Bulldogs (6-5) swept through doubles. The Warriors' (4-5) number two tandem of junior
Karthik Garimella and sophomore
Kiran Chakka lost 9-7 to Ryan Beene and Adrian Balderas.
In singles, Garimella picked up the Warriors' only point by defeating Eric Beckenbach 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5). Several other matches were close as well with freshman
Daniel Sweeney losing to Baldreas 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) in number singles. Freshman
Luke Lefler was defeated by Nick Roccaforte 7-5, 7-5 in the fourth spot.
Hendrix will host John Brown University at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
