CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team lost to Austin College 8-1 at home Saturday morning.

The Warriors (4-4) only point came at number two doubles where junior Ian McVinney and sophomore Kiran Chakka defeated Erik Meendsen and Preston Glasscock 9-7. The Kangaroos (3-4) won the last two doubles sets, but the number three team of sophomore Daniel Habenicht and freshman Daniel Sweeney played Jeff Kubena and Daniel Oxenreiter close in an 8-5 decision.

In singles, Meendsen defeated junior Karthik Garimella 6-2, 7-5 at the second spot. Sophomore Kristian Lenser lost to Josh Granberry 6-3, 6-3 in number three and Habenicht fell to Kubena 7-5, 6-0 in the sixth flight.

Hendrix will be off until Mar. 16 when they host Texas Lutheran University.
