MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team's season came to an end with a 9-0 loss to Sewanee - The University of the South in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Friday.
The Warriors (5-12), who were the eighth seed, lost all three doubles matches to the Tigers (16-6), who were the top seed and ranked seventh in the Atlantic South Region.
Hendrix junior
Ian McVinney and sophomore
Kiran Chakka battled the top Tiger duo of Avery Schober and Scott Gallimore to an 8-4 defeat.
In number two singles, junior
Karthik Garimella fell to Eric Roddy 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore
Kristian Lenser lost to Gallimore 6-1, 6-0 in the third spot and freshman
Luke Lefler lost 6-2, 6-1 to Mac McCullough at number five.
McVinney was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
