CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team lost to Centre College 7-2 in a highly-competitive Southern Athletic Association match Sunday.
The Warriors (5-7, 0-3) won their only point in doubles with junior
Ian McVinney and sophomore
Kiran Chakka defeating Luke Brooks and Ben Hadlock 8-6 in the first flight. The Colonels (5-8, 1-2) took the other two doubles matches by the score 8-4.
Sophomore
Daniel Habenicht won Hendrix' other match in number six singles with a 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Forrest Kamperman.
Centre need tiebreakers to win the top two spots. Logan Henize defeated McVinney 6-2, 3-6, 10-4 at number one and Brooks downed junior
Karthik Garimella 6-3, 3-6, 10-4 at number two. Sophomore
Kristian Lenser had a close match with Hadlock in the fourth spot with the score 6-2, 7-5.
Hendrix will go on the road for their final four regular season matches beginning with Berry on Saturday.
