CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Hendrix College swimming teams dominated the University of the Ozarks by a combined score of 1,473-491 in a duel Friday night. The Warrior men defeated the Eagles 765-179 and the women won 708-312.
The Warriors combined to win all 26 events and placed second in 22.
Senior
Abby Schlenk led the Hendrix with 100 points. Freshman
Sam Melhorn led the men with 100, followed by fellow freshman
Lyle Alford's 97 points.
Men's Notes
- The 200 yard medley relay team of
Troy Koser, Melhorn,
Brandon Cathey and Alford won with a time of 1:44.98.
- Melhorn took first in the 200 freestyle in 1:49.90 and the 50 yard butterfly with a season-best 25.25 seconds. He also won the 100 freestyle in 50.05 seconds and was first in the 100 butterfly with a season-best 56.74 seconds.
- Alford won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.73. He was also first in the 50 freestyle in 24.01 seconds and the 50 backstroke in 27.20 seconds. Alford took second in the 500 freestyle in 5:30.13.
- Cathey, a junior, took first in the 500 freestyle in 5:24.85, a season-best and won the 100 yard individual medley with a mark of 1:02.99. He was second in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.81 and recorded a season-best time of 25.63 seconds in the 50 fly.
- Koser, a senior, won the 100 backstroke in 1:00.28. He finished second in the 50 back in 27.96.
- Freshman
David Samuel in the 100 back in 1:14.03.
- Sophomore
Connor Griffin had a mark of 1:12.39 in the 100 yard breaststroke, placing second. He was also second in the 50 breaststroke in 33.37 seconds.
- Senior
Chris Griffin won the 50 yard breaststroke in 32.17 seconds and was second in the 50 free in 24.66 seconds. He finished third in the 100 IM in 1:07.05.
- Sophomore
Diego Valdivieso placed second in the 100 butterfly in 1:07.07 and finished third in the 100 yard freestyle with a season-best time of 58.81 seconds.
- Melhorn,
Chris Griffin, Alford and Cathey won the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:36.48.

Claire De Pree won the 200 medley relay in 2:03.26.
- Schlenk was first in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:15.50, a career-best time. She also won the 50 yard butterfly in 30.68 and the 100 freestyle in 1:00.89. Schlenk had a time of 1:08.21 in the 100 butterfly to win her fourth event of the night.
- Lyerly took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a mark of 1:08.11 and won the 50 backstroke in 31.86 seconds. She placed second in 28.53 in the 50 free.

Ploy Freebairn, a sophomore, won the 50 freestyle in 28.39 seconds and had a time of 1:11.33 in the 100 backstroke, taking second. She also placed second in the 50 back in 32.83 seconds.
- Freshman
Jordan Carl had a time of 1:17.10 in the 100 breaststroke to win the event. She had a time of 35.67 seconds to win the 50 yard backstroke. Carl was the runner-up in the 100 butterfly in 1:15.33.
- Sophomore
Haley Whitson won the 500 freestyle in 6:00.45. She also took second in the 200 free in 2:15.77 and the 100 IM in 1:12.13, a career-best time.
- Eubank, a sophomore, was second in the 100 breaststroke at 1:17.61 and second in the 50 breaststroke in 36.46 seconds.
- De Pree, a senior, won the 100 yard IM in 1:11.20 and finished in second in the 100 freestyle in 1:02.25.
- Schlenk, De Pree, Freebairn and Lyerly won the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:52.90.
