Conway, AR - Hendrix men and women's swimming and diving teams hosted the Hendrix Relays on Friday night. The women finished in first place with a team score of 364 while the men also finished in first place with a team score of 370.
On the men's side
David Jiang was involved in three of Hendrix's five first-place finishes. He was a part of the 300 fly relay where they took first with a time of 2:53:54, and also was a part of the team that claimed the 300 breast relay in 3:17:09.
Sam Melhorn also joined Jiang,
Lyle Alford and
Brandon Cathey to capture the 400 medley relay in 3:51:34.
Jordan Carl,
Journey Eubank, and Callista Poiter earned a victory on the women's side in the 300 breast relay with a mark of 3:51:85.
"I was very happy with today's result and its always great to come away with a win," said Head Coach
Marty Wahle. "The team is looking stronger than before and starting to successfully implement new techniques and race strategies. I am looking forward to the Classic Meet, where we will be swimming 200's of strokes for the first time this year. This will be a good test to see where we are at with our endurance."
Hendrix will host the Hendrix Classic tomorrow. The meet is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
