Hendrix Falls to Rhodes in SAA Opener

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's tennis team lost their Southern Athletic Association opener to Rhodes College 9-0 on Sunday.

The host Lynx (7-0, 1-0), who were ranked 16th in the Atlantic South Region, won each of the doubles match ups 8-2. In singles senior Karthik Garimella of the Warriors (1-6, 0-1) lost to Albert Vacheron 6-4, 6-3 in the top spot.

Senior Ian McVinney lost to Andrew Morton 6-1, 6-1 at number two. Junior Daniel Habenicht lost to P.J. Shaw 6-1, 6-1 in the fifth spot and sophomore Daniel Sweeney lost 6-2, 6-2 to Wesley Tolsdorf at number six.

Hendrix will take on Christian Brothers University in Memphis later Sunday afternoon.
