CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College baseball team defeated NCAA Division II foe Harding University 7-4 at Warrior Field Wednesday evening.
The Warriors (4-9) outhit the Bisons (4-14) 12-7 and used eight pitchers in the win.
Harding scored in the top of the second when right fielder Chris Taylor led off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by catcher J. Paul Fullerton. They went up 4-0 in the third on three hits and a hit by pitch. Taylor had a two-run single in the frame.
Hendrix posted five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Sophomore third baseman
Dylan Bowers hit a RBI-infield single and sophomore shortstop
Jorge Leon and junior center fielder
Drew Judson connected on back-to-back two-run doubles to give the Orange & Black the lead.
The Warriors tacked on two more runs in the eighth. With two outs, freshman left fielder
Sean Dehne singled, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Bowers base hit. Bowers the stole second followed by a walk issued to Leon. Judson hit a base hit up the middle, scoring Bowers for the final run of the game.

Josh Gonzales (1-0) picked up the win, allowing just a hit while throwing a scoreless fourth inning. Sophomore
Taylor Barker earned the save, the fifth of his career. Nash Thomas (0-2) took the loss.
