CONWAY, Ark. - After falling by one point in overtime of the 2018 SAA Women's Basketball Championship Game to Oglethorpe, Hendrix opened the 2018 season with an exhibition matchup against NCAA Division I foe Central Arkansas. After holding the lead for more than two minutes in the opening quarter, the Warriors fell behind after going more than eight minutes without scoring a point. The Sugar Bears ended up walking away with a 72-40 victory to remain victorious inside the Farris Center on the season.

TURNING POINT
- After leading by just one, the Sugar Bears netted a 23-0 run while holding Hendrix scoreless for over the next eight minutes to take a commanding 34-10 lead with just two minutes until the intermission.
OF NOTE
- After leading for more than two minutes in the game, UCA took the lead for good with 2:51 left in the opening quarter.
- UCA nailed two free throws towards the end of the first quarter to take a three-point lead after one.
- Hendrix was held scoreless for the first 7:55 of the second frame before junior guard
Amber Turner found herself a layup.
- Trailing by 20 at the intermission, the Warriors opened the second half on a 6-2 run; all six points scored by sophomore guard
Vinessa Daniel.
- A late 5-0 run from the home team helped UCA lead by as many as 25 points late in the third.

Jayla King managed to record four points apiece in the fourth as Hendrix fell to the Sugar Bears, 72-40.
- Daniel finished with a team-best 13 points and team-high six boards while Pruitt added 11 points off the bench.
- Daniel also shot an efficient 7-of-11 from the charity stripe while Hendrix, as a whole, shot 16-of-28 (57.1 percent).
- The Sugar Bears only outrebounded Hendrix 36-30 but 19 total second chance points from UCA helped pave the way for the Sugar Bears' victory.
- King finished with six points, four boards and one assist in 20 minutes of work while freshman Rachel guard
Rachel Woppman shot 2-of-2 from the floor for four points in 12 minutes of action.

After getting its first exhibition game under its belt for the 2018 season, Hendrix officially opens the regular season Tuesday in Clarksville, Ark. when the Warriors battle the University of Ozark Eagles at 7 p.m.
