Eagles Pull Away Late Despite Career Night from Stanley

Box Score  CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – Playing its third basketball game in a span of five days, Hendrix embarked on its second shortest road trip of the season to Clarksville, Ark. as the Warriors battled University of the Ozarks (Ark.) Monday night. A seven-minute scoring drought for Hendrix in the first half turned a two-point advantage into a 14-point deficit as the Warriors ultimately fell late to the Eagles, 75-73. Seth Stanley nearly recorded half of the Warriors' scoring after logging a career-best 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the floor. Hendrix falls to 1-1 on the year while the Eagles fall to 1-1 as well.

OF NOTE
- After two lead changes and seven different ties in the first eight minutes of the game, Hendrix went more than seven minutes without scoring as Ozarks scored 16 straight points to take a nine-point advantage at the break.
- A quick Warriors 9-0 run in under two minutes late in the opening half brought Hendrix within three but an Eagles three-pointer with two minutes left gave the home team the nine-point edge at the half.
- Ozarks led by 16 with 15:18 left in regulation but a 12-0 Hendrix run brought the Warriors within four, 48-44 with under 12 minutes left.
- A big-time three-pointer by Stanley put Hendrix on top by a point with five minutes left; Hendrix's first lead since there was 13:51 left in the first half.
- Sean Coman made a free throw with 2:01 left to crawl within a point but a quick 5-0 Eagles run over the next 44 seconds gave Ozarks a six-point cushion with a minute to go.
- Hendrix pulled within three points with 12 seconds left but Ozarks made three of its final five free throw attempts to pick up the 78-73 win over Hendrix. 

BOX SCORE NOTABLE
- Stanley shot 4-of-10 from deep and 4-for-6 at the charity stripe; also recorded four rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Jacob Link recorded a second-best 15 points against the Eagles in 33 minutes on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor.
- Two days after his incredible collegiate debut, Brooks Cartwright accounted for three points but recorded team-highs of five rebounds and three assists Monday night.
- The Eagles outrebounded Hendrix 32-24 while also shooting over 50 percent from deep (13-for-24).
- The Warriors shot an even 50 percent (26-for-52) from the floor for the game.

Hendrix begins a two-game road trip to Texas. First, the Warriors battle the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas Saturday at 3 p.m.
