Stanley's Incredible 45-Point Game Allows Hendrix to Cruise Past Division II UAFS in Exhibition Upset

Box Score FORT SMITH, Ark. - After falling to Arkansas-Fort Smith, 90-59, a year ago and looking to compete in its final exhibition contest of the 2019-20 season, Hendrix traveled to Fort Smith, Ark. to take on the NCAA Division II Lions Thursday evening. Seth Stanley poured in an incredible 45 points, including 34 of them in the second half, on 7-of-11 from deep as the Hendrix Warriors managed to record the gigantic exhibition upset over UAFS, 88-78. While no stats officially count in the game, Stanley's 45 points is the most post in a single game, of any type, in program history. Hendrix still holds a 4-4 mark on the year while the Lions drop to 5-3. The win Thursday is Hendrix's first-ever victory against the Lions in Fort Smith in school history.

OF NOTE
- UAFS scored the first six points of the game in the first two minutes and held a 10-2 advantage four minutes into the game.
- Back-to-back three-pointers by Stanley and Jacob Link soon after brought Hendrix within two, 10-8.
- Another trifecta by Stanley pulled the Warriors within one before Alex Conrad's layup tied the game at 13 with 13:50 to go in the opening half.
- Hendrix trailed by six, 25-16, with six minutes left in the half but a layup from Stanley and a three-pointer by Sean Coman got Hendrix within one, 25-24.
- After trailing 33-31 at the break, Stanley put Hendrix ahead, 39-38, after another three-pointer with 18:14 left in the game before a 5-0 Warrior run put Hendrix up 44-39.
- A huge trifecta by Brooks Cartwright with 11:30 to go halted the Lions' momentum after UAFS pulled within a point, 52-51; Hendrix led 57-51 after another layup from Conrad.
- The Lions held the one-point edge with under eight minutes left before Rod Cummings II's jumper gave Hendrix the lead, once and for all, with 7:41 to go at 61-60. A 9-2 run gave Hendrix the 70-62 advantage with under six minutes to go. 
- With 3:56 to go, Stanley put Hendrix up by 10 points with a jumper.
- Stanley scored seven of Hendrix's final nine points as the Warriors completed the exhibition upset and defeated the UAFS Lions, 88-78.

BOX SCORE NOTABLE
- In addition to the 45 points on the night from the sophomore, Stanley added five defensive rebound, two assists and three steals in 36 minutes of work to propel the Warriors to the incredible upset. Stanley also recorded 34 points in the final 20 minutes Thursday.
- Alex Conrad added 12 points off the bench on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor with a team-high five boards.
- Coman scored eight of his 11 in the second half and added two assists and three steals also in 29 minutes; also shot 3-of-6 from deep and hit two crucial free throws in the second half.
- Jack Eaton and Link added five points each while Cummings II added four points, four assists and a team-best five rebounds while all three accounted for four assists each also.
- The win Thursday is Hendrix's first win against the Lions since Jan. 4, 1962 (63-57).

WHO'S NEXT
After pulling off the huge upset that doesn't officially count on paper, Hendrix returns to Conway to take on the Dallas Crusaders Saturday at 3 p.m. The Warriors fell to Dallas in Irving, Texas Nov. 16 (57-71).
