CONWAY, Ark. – Looking to continue its non-conference portion of the season, Hendrix took on Grinnell Saturday evening in the first game of a three-game series over the course of the weekend. Grinnell held a 2-1 lead until
Jorge Leon singled up the middle in the eighth inning to the tie the game before
Ford Sherrington's RBI single to center field allowed for the Warriors to land the 3-2 victory at home. Hendrix improves to 15-4 on the season with a 4-2 mark in Southern Athletic Association play while Grinnell drops to 2-3 overall on the 2019 season.

NOTABLE:
- After the Pioneers were able to score just one run in the first inning on a bases loaded, no outs situation, Jo. Leon's single into right field tied up the game in the sixth inning.
- Following a 2-1 Grinnell lead, Jo. Leon came up with another RBI single that resulted in a tie ball game; this time to center field in the eighth inning.

Tanner Cooper recorded a sacrifice bunt after Jo. Leon's RBI single then Sherrington singled to center field to score Jo. Leon for the eventual go-ahead RBI that resulted in the home team winning, 3-2.

Jack Hodgins started the game on the mound for the Warriors after tossing 7 and one-third innings, striking out nine and allowing just two earned runs.

Kyle Wellman threw just seven pitches but picked up his second victory of the season after getting the final two outs in the eighth inning.

Taylor Barker got the final three outs of the game as Hendrix took down another non-conference opponent. After the save Saturday, Barker now has seven on the season; eight shy of tying the program's all-time saves leader.
- Jo. Leon finished the day 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs against the Pioneers.

Caleb Stark and Tucker went 2-for-3 apiece at the plate while Tucker scored in the eighth inning.

Hendrix will face Grinnell twice in a doubleheader Sunday. First pitch of the first game is set for 12 p.m.
