Warriors Outscore Majors 23-4 to Climb Into a Tie Atop the SAA Standings

JACKSON, Miss. –  Sitting one game back of first place in the Southern Athletic Association standings heading into Saturday, Hendrix embarked on just its second SAA road series of the season when the Warriors took on Millsaps from Jackson, Miss. In the opening game, seven scoreless innings from Jack Hodgins proved to be more than enough as Hendrix took the early 1-0 lead and never looked back as the Warriors won game one, 11-2. In the second game, Andrei Stoyanow allowed just a run in over three innings of work but a three-run first inning allowed Hendrix to strike first yet again as the Warriors cruised to a 12-2 game two victory to sweep the day. With the two wins, Hendrix improves to 21-7 on the year and improve to 8-3 in conference play while Millsaps drops to 5-20 with a 2-8 mark in SAA action. Along with the two wins, Hendrix moves into a tie for first place in the SAA standings after Berry lost one game to Birmingham-Southern Saturday evening. While the two are tied, Hendrix owns the tiebreaker since the Warriors won two games out of the three-game series against the Vikings from Conway in early March.
