CONWAY, Ark. - For the second straight week, Hendrix Baseball obtains votes in the 2019 D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 National Poll after a 10-3 start to the regular season including a 2-1 start to open up Southern Athletic Association play.
The Warriors obtain 11 votes in the latest national poll as it was released Tuesday morning. A week ago and before the two victories over Berry, Hendrix received four votes. The Warriors are the third-highest team out of the SAA in the national poll; just behind Birmingham-Southern and Berry.
Two of the three losses this season have come to Top 25 nationally-ranked teams (then-No. 3 Texas Lutheran, then-No.24 Berry). Freshman second basemen
Juan Pablo Leon currently leads the team in batting with a .432 mark (19-for-44) while flex player/pitcher
Andrei Stoyanow maintains a SAA third-best 1.29 ERA and with a 2-0 record on the mound in his first year of collegiate baseball.
Hendrix looks to get back to its winning ways Tuesday at 5 p.m. when the Warriors will host the University of the Ozark Eagles for the second time in less than three weeks. Hendrix won a 7-0 decision against the Eagles in Conway Feb. 20.
