Warriors Drop Season Opener to Texas Lutheran Friday

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - One season after conquering so much in head coach Sean McSheffery's first year, Hendrix opened up the 2020 season Friday night in Grand Prairie, Texas against No. 22 Texas Lutheran in the 2020 Rusty Greer & Jackie Moore Collegiate Classic from AirHogs Stadium. TLU carded a pair of runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Hendrix scored its first run of the year in the fifth inning when Andrei Stoyanow scored off a sacrifice fly off Rail Gilliam to pull within a run but the Bulldogs put up a six-run seventh inning and recorded four more runs in the eighth as TLU carded the 12-2 win over Hendrix on Opening Day. Andrei Stoyanow picked up the loss for Hendrix after going four innings. Hendrix falls to 0-1 on the young season while TLU improves to 1-0.
