CONWAY, Ark. - This past weekend, the Warriors won their exhibition matches against the National Park College Nighthawks on Thursday and the Ozarks Eagles on Sunday.

On Thursday night at Warrior Field, senior Sydnee Pritchett led off the game against the Nighthawks, scoring the first goal off of a corner kick. The second goal of the evening was off of an assist from senior Kaitlyn Gilkeyand was finished by freshman Emily Seymour. Freshman Madison Lampkin got the third goal and first of the second half, assisted by sophomore Anna Grace Eichenberger. Following six minutes later was an assist by freshman Samantha Barrett to fellow freshman Jamisen Geoffrion. Emily Seymour scored her second collegiate goal off of another assist from Kaitlyn Gilkey to record the fifth goal of the night. Sophomore transfer Megan Harder got the sixth goal of the evening with the assist coming from freshmen teammates Finley Baber and Laramie Cox. The seventh and final goal of the night came off of a breakaway from Laramie Cox. In total, four Warriors scored their first collegiate goals. The Orange and Black were able to keep a clean sheet, with the leadership of sophomore Kaitlyn Wharton, who helped to organize the back line. Junior Caton Nelson also picked up the win for her first collegiate start and both freshmen keepers also helped contribute to the 7-0 shutout.

On Sunday afternoon, the Warriors traveled to Ozarks where they won 3-1. The first goal was scored by junior transfer Mackenzie Sinclair off of an assist from Samantha Barrett. The second goal came from Sydnee Pritchett's assist to Madison Lampkin. The third goal for the Orange and Black came off of a freekick outside the 18-yard box from Camy McKenzie that Anna Grace Eichenberger finished. The Eagles scored their goal from a free kick outside the 18-yard box.

The coaches were proud of the work ethic of the team and that the freshmen were able to rise to the challenge and put away a lot of goals. Coach Logan Dye said "we saw some things they can work on and learn from, but the girls connected well and brought great energy to the games. The team was able to keep the intensity high with the depth we have this year and it was all smiles from several girls who played their first collegiate minutes". Coach Jeff Trimble said, "I'm really proud of the girls. These wins were a total team effort and everyone got to contribute. It was fun to see the freshmen step up to the challenge."

The Warriors will travel to Sherman, TX this Thursday to begin their regular season against Austin College. They will be back at Warrior Field on Sunday as they host Schreiner at 11:00 am CST. Live video coverage of all home games will be available on the Warrior Sports Network.
