Conway, Ark.- The men's soccer team hits the road this weekend to take on the Centre Colonels & the Sewanee Tigers. The Warriors picked up a win in their last matchup, blanking Millsaps 2-0 thanks to goals by Jake Nelson & Danny Kern.
Hendrix comes into the weekend with a record of 3-4-1. The top goal scorer for the Warriors this season is Will Kelton, who is also tied for a team high 2 assists with Holt Bliss & Jensen Pechar. James Leone leads the Warriors in net, collecting 14 saves on 61 shots faced.
Centre College
The Colonels come into this matchup with a record of 4-6-1, recording a tie in their last match against Berry. Freshman Forward John Palomino leads the Colonels in goals (3), points (8) & assists (2). Senior Jacob Camacho leads Centre in the net, collecting 21 saves on 73 shots faced. Junior Brendan Egan has also seen significant time in the net, collecting 25 saves on 45 shots faced. This will be the 13th matchup between Centre & Hendrix, with the Colonels leading the series 11-1. The Tigers enter the weekend with a record of 3-3-4. In their last match, the picked up a decisive victory over Piedmont by a score of 6-3. Junior Tyler Cozzie leads the team in goals (4) & points (9). Senior Payne Gridley leads the team in assists with 3. Sewanee has played three different goal keepers with Sophomore Nathan Vanhoeve leading the team in starts with 5. Vanhoeve currently leads the Tigers with 22 saves on 65 shots faced. This will be the 11th matchup between the two schools, with both teams knotted at 5 apiece. In their last matchup, the Warriors were able to come out on the winning side in a 2-1 victory with both goals by Jensen Pechar. The game is set for Sunday at 2:30 pm CT.
