Conway, Ark. - After dropping their regular season finale to Rhodes 11-7 on Sunday, the Hendrix Warriors will head to Memphis for a return leg with the Lynx, this time for a 2023 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Quarterfinal matchup.
The Warriors are 2-8 all-time versus the Lynx and are winless in their last eight matches.
Maximus LaMendola led Hendrix with 4 goals last week versus Rhodes, with
Klaus Rowan netting 2 goals. Both sides started hot out the gates, as the first quarter ending in a 4-4 stalemate. Neither team scored in the 2nd-quarter, and a strong 3rd-quarter helped lift the Lynx to victory.
This will be the first time that the I-40 rivals have met in postseason play, with the Warriors looking for their first-ever win in SAA tournament play.
Hendrix wrapped up the 2023 regular season 6-10 (1-5 SAA), with their contest versus Oglethorpe back on March 26 serving as a de facto play-in match for an SAA tournament berth. The Warriors defeated the Stormy Petrals 15-13.
