Conway, Ark. - After starting the season undefeated for the second year in a row, Jeff Tremble's squad look to keep winning as they host Austin College & Evangel University in the home opener for the Warriors.
The Warriors ended last weekend 2-0, after convincing wins against Westminster College & Centenary College. In their matchup against Westminster, Madison Lampkin got started early, thanks to an assist from talented Freshman Grace Sandoval. Another goal by Mackenzie Sinclair put the stamp on the game, resulting in a 2-0 victory for the Warriors. Elisabeth Caton Nelson recorded two saves in the victory with Kennedy Lewis also seeing action in the game. Their next game was much of the same for the Warriors, handling business in a 3-0 win. Madison Lampkin found the back of the net again thanks to an assist by Mackenzie Sinclair. Clara Sullivan & Sierra Dobson also netted two goals to put the finishing touches on a dominate performance by the Warriors. Caton Nelson and Lewis split time evenly, combining for 4 saves.
Austin College
The 'Roos come to Conway 1-0-1 after last weekend, drawing a nil-nil tie against LeTourneau and taking down Dallas Christian 3-1. In their matchup with LeTourneau, Junior GK Kenedie Lane was a stone wall, collecting 10 saves. After getting the tie, the 'Roos came back from being down most of the game against Dallas Christian, winning 3-1 scoring all three goals in the final 15 minutes of the game. This will be the 5th matchup between the two teams, with the Warriors being undefeated (4-0) against the 'Roos. In their matchup from last season, the Warriors traveled to Sherman, TX and left with the 1-0 victory. The match is expected to start Friday night at 6:00 PM.
Evangel
The Valor of Evangel come into this matchup 1-2-1, getting the draw in their most recent matchup. Evangel in their lone win on the season came in a 9-0 beatdown of William Woods. Junior Forward Emily Oedewaldt scored two goals with Sophomore Forward Anna Craine chipping in two goals and two assists. Sophomore Forward Anna Craine lead the Valor in goals (4), assists (3) & points (11). Senior GK Chloe Hancock has 18 saves on the season after facing 44 shots. This will be the second matchup between Hendrix & Evangel, with the last matchup ending in a 6-0 victory for the Warriors back in 2015. The Warriors take on the Valor Saturday night at 6:00 PM.
