Birmingham, Ala. - The Hendrix Men's and Women's Track and Field programs both took part in the Samford Bulldog Open this weekend, with two new school records being set by freshmen.

Anna Cantrell broke her own record in the indoor 1 mile with a new personal best of 5:31.03. Her previous best was set two weeks ago with a time of 5:42.14.

After coming within centimeters two weeks ago at Principia, Tristian Johnson finally owns the school record for the indoor shot put with a throw of 13.66 meters. He had initially broken the school record with his first throw (13.60 meters), then one-upped himself on the next try.

The Warriors will now have two weeks to prepare for the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Indoor Championships hosted by Centre in Danville, Kentucky.
