Conway, Ark. - Hendrix Men's Lacrosse will head to Mount Berry, Ga. to take on the 3rd-seeded Berry Vikings on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) playoffs. The winner will take on the #2 seed Sewanee next Friday in Danville, Kentucky.
The Warriors are coming off of a 5-9 regular season under third-year head coach
Jordan Drumheller. Hendrix opened its account in the SAA with an 11-5 win over Oglethorpe back on March 22, but have not won in league play since.
The last time these two teams faced, Berry narrowly defeated Hendrix in an 11-8 contest on March 24 in Conway.
The Warriors are led by senior
Maximus LaMendola, who sits third in the conference in Goals Per Game (2.79) and Points Per Game (4.21). As a team, Hendrix is averaging 11.07 goals per game.
In goal,
Ian Domeika has made 195 saves on the year for a 52.4% save percentage.
Hendrix has a 52.8% faceoff percentage through 14 contests and is led by
Michael DeCaro in the center circle. The senior is 194-356 (53.2%) on faceoffs and has won 93 groundballs.
The Warriors have yet to win a first-round playoff game since the Men's Lacrosse program began, and are 0-3 versus Berry in postseason play.
