Conway, Ark. - Hendrix finished Day One of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships with 22 points and currently sit at third in the team standings after one day of competition.
Hendrix got 5 points in the Men's Hammer Throw to start the day, as
Hayden Rodriguez finished 6th (40.98m) with
Tristian Johnson finishing right behind him in 7th (38.11m).
Ethan Armour finished 5th in the Men's Pole Vault (4.16m) to tack on 4 more points.
Day One was capped off by a thrilling finish to the Men's Shot Put Finals as Hendrix and Berry went back and forth to determine who could place the most in the top eight finishes.
Johnson finished 2nd (14.11m) wth Rodriguez (5th, 13.64m) and Armour (8th, 12.63m) also earning points for the Warriors in the event.
Jayvian Coulter just missed out on a top-eight finish, finishing 9th with a 12.50m toss.
On the track, Armour finished 3rd in the Men's 110m Hurdles prelims to qualify for tomorrow's finals.
Day Two of the SAA Championships will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday morning with the Men's Discus, Women's Javelin, and the Women's High Jump.
