SEARCY, Ark. - The Hendrix men's and women's track and field programs took part in the Stallion Transportation Harding Invitational over the weekend in Searcy, with
Westin Bruce rewriting the record book on the track.
The junior posted a fourth-place finish in the men's 100-meter with a 10.67, coming in 0.09 faster than the previous record he set a year ago. Bruce then won the men's 200-meter with a 21.60 to best Michael Spainhour's mark set back in 2018.
B Adams also posted a first-place finish at the invitational, winning the women's hammer with a 42.48m toss. The reigning SAA Women's Field Newcomer of the Year came just three meters short of her program record set last year at the SAA championships. The sophomore came in 8th in the women's discus (38.45m) and in the women's shot put (11.49m).
Dentravious Woods finished second in the men's high jump with a 1.83, while
Miguel Manners posted a top-five finish in the men's triple jump (12.55m).
Ember Hughes finished 7th in both the women's javelin (35.09m) and in the 200 meters (26.87).
Jayvian Coulter tossed a 13.63m in the men's shot put to finish 9th.
