Conway, Ark. - Hendrix's outdoor track & field teams crossed the street to compete at the Richard Martin Invitational hosted by the University of Central Arkansas over the weekend and secured several top finishes across the running and throwing events.
In the women's running events,
Anna Cantrell won the Women's 800m, edging out UCA's Emma Selph by nearly two seconds. Cantrell currently ranks second in the Southern Athletic Association in both the 800m (2:20.11) and the 1500m (4:51.62).
In the field events,
B Adams placed fifth in the discus (38.09m) and seventh in the hammer toss (35.32m). Her discus throw currently ranks first in the SAA.
Ember Hughes finished third in the high jump (1.48m) and fifth in the javelin (34.34m).
On the men's side,
Westin Bruce set a new personal best for the second time in as many meets, clocking in at 11.11 in the Men's 100m to finish second in the event. He finished third in the Men's 200m with a time of 23.35. His time in the 200m currently ranks first in the SAA while his 100m time ranks second.
In the field events,
Jayvian Coulter and
Tristian Johnson finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the shot put.
Jagger Gordon made his debut in the Men's Long Jump and finished fourth (5.96m).
