Suwanee, Ga. - Riley Brady has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference defensive player of the week for the third time this season after her record-breaking performance over the weekend.
She is currently the only athlete to have earned this distinction multiple times this season.
Brady helped lead the Warriors to back-to-back wins over the University of the Ozarks to begin conference play. On Friday, she posted 14 points and 17 rebounds in a 79-67 win for her fifth double-double of the season. Brady also recorded 6 steals in the contest.
She then made history on Sunday, hauling in a record-breaking 31 rebounds while also contributing 21 points to help Hendrix to a thrilling 75-73 over the Eagles. Her 31 boards set a new single-game record for both Hendrix and the SCAC, and is the second-highest total of the season in all of NCAA Divsion III. It also ranks 33rd all-time in NCAA Division III history.
Brady is averaging 14.7 points and 20.0 rebounds through seven games played.
Brady and the Warriors resume conference play this weekend as they head to Texas for road matches against Concordia Texas and Texas Lutheran.
