WBB | Warriors Gear Up for SCAC Tournament on Home Floor

Conway, Ark. - In their first year back in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Hendrix Warriors clinched a share of the SCAC Blue Division regular season championship and will enter the postseason as the #4 overall seed in the 2026 SCAC Women's Basketball tournament.

Hendrix (15-9, 11-5 SCAC) will enjoy the advantage of playing on their home floor with Hendrix College set to host both the men's and women's basketball tournaments Friday, Febuary 27 through Sunday, March 1.

The Warriors will kick off the women's tournament on Friday in the quarterfinal round against the McMurry Warhawks (18-6, 12-4 SCAC), the 3-seed from the SCAC Gold Division. McMurry got the better of Hendrix back on January 30 in Abilene, Texas, with the Warhawks pulling out a 69-59 win. Junior Riley Brady (Little Rock, Ark.) had 28 points and 20 rebounds in that contest, and will look to lead the line for the Warriors on Friday as they seek revenge on their quarterfinal opponents. Brady wrapped up a historic 2025-26 regular season campaign last weekend, finishing second in the conference in scoring (18.0 PPG) and second nationally in rebounds per game (18.3 RPG). Against the University of Dallas on Saturday, the junior set a new single-season SCAC rebounding record with 400 total rebounds.

McMurry enters the tournament as the second-highest scoring team in the league, averaging 70.6 points per game. The Warhawks are led by the SCAC's best scorer Helana Chadwick, who ranks fourth nationally in scoring with 22.6 points per game. Senior Aryana Cleveland, another top player in the SCAC, averaged 15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds in the regular season. Meanwhile, Hendrix ranked sixth this season in scoring defense, allowing 62.8 points on average.

Offensively, freshman Chloey Rei-Brown (Little Rock, Ark.) and junior Natalie Edmonson (Bryant, Ark.) will add firepower for Wes Sullivan's squad. Brown is coming off a sensational freshman campaign, finishing second amongst all first-year players with 11.3 points per game and totaled a remarkable 100 assists. The freshman tallied four 20+ games this season. Edmonson, one of the top three-point shooters in the SCAC, averaged 9.8 points this season and shot 34.8% from behind the arc and scored 12 points against McMurry last time out. Juniors Brailey Forst (Paris, Ark.) and Brooklyn Rowe (Little Rock, Ark.) both averaged 6.5 points, with Forst adding major contributions defensively this season with 4.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.

Tip-off for Friday's quarterfinal is scheduled for 5:00 PM at Grove Gymnasium, with the winner advancing to take on the #1 overall seed Colorado College on Saturday evening.
